Beginning with one local club in 1917, a group of business leaders in Birmingham, Alabama formed a global organization based on the empowering message of fellowship, knowledge and service to others. Within a decade of that first meeting, more than one hundred Civitan clubs were born. The Westerville Area Civitan Club was started in 1964. It started as a small group of individuals who were passionate about others in their community that were in need. The Club has sponsored Boy Scout Troop 700 since 1964 and Cub Scout Pack 770 since 1968. Over the years, the Club has grown into a community club with a strong presence in the Westerville Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities Community (IDD).
We meet generally twice a month except during event months and during the summer. When we do meet, we meet on the 2d and the 4th Thursday at 7:15pm-8:30pm. However, we also organize events, fundraisers, and activities outside of our regular meetings.
Anyone who shares our values and is interested in supporting others and the IDD Community can join the Westerville Area Civitan Club. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds and ages 18 and above to join. You are welcome to attend any meeting or event to learn about us. Children are welcome.
